Funkstille Blaufrankisch 2022, Burgenland, Austria

Description Blaufrankisch is deliciously unusual red grape variety which is found in Central European countries such as Austria & Hungary. The fruit is sourced from south facing vineyards in Burgenland and after fermentation the finished wine then goes into large Fourdre (huge, neutral but oxidative barrels) with 10% going into smaller oak barriques. This classic style of Blaufrankisch from Burgenland has an abundance of blackberry & damson fruit, a hint of spice and a gentle lick of oak. Recommended.
