Gimblett Gravels Syrah 2020, Trinity Hill, Hawkes Bay,New Zealand

Description The Gimblett Gravel Sub region of the Hawkes Bay area of the Northern Island of New Zealand is capable of producing some of the best Syrah in the “new” wine world. One of the best exponents are Trinity Hill who have been crafting outstanding wine and capturing the terrior of the area since 1993. In a nod to the classic French wine of Cotie Rotie, they co ferment Syrah with Viognier which add a fragrance and perfume to the finished wine; oak aging in very large french oak casks adds to the complexity of the aromatic, ripe but savoury and spicy character. It is perfect with venison and will age beautifully for 20 years.
