Description Trinity Hill Syrah 2022, Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand Winemaker / Producer: Trinity Hill have been the standard bearer for Hawke’s Bay since 1993 and winemaker Warren Gibson has acquired a reputation as a hero of Hawke’s Bay. Of all the varieties grown at Trinity Hill, perhaps Syrah is the most famous and revered. Vineyard & Winemaking: The fruit is sourced from several individual vineyard parcels across Hawke’s Bay, including the celebrated Gimblett Gravels — free-draining, low fertility soils benefiting from hot, dry westerly winds. Each parcel is harvested and fermented separately before eight months of maturation in a combination of used French oak barriques and stainless steel tanks. Tasting Notes: A nose of raspberries, blackberry and black pepper is followed by a supple New Zealand red wine palate of strawberry, plum, leather and spice, supported by gentle tannins and gentle oak notes. Food Pairing: The Trinity Hill Syrah Hawke’s Bay New Zealand is a wonderfully food-friendly New Zealand red wine. Perfect with roast lamb or a butterflied leg of lamb on the barbecue.
