Description Piemonte, located in the NE corner of Italy, is home to many great wines including the classic white wine of Gavi. Produced from the native Cortese grape variety & grown on poor calcareous soils, the Il Forte Gavi is made by the Produttori del Gavi cooperative in the revered province of Alessandria. The combination of poor soils and brakish winds coming of the Ligurian sea create a elegant, perfumed and refined wine. A wonderful dry white wine with notes of lemon peel & wild flowers on the nose that lead to a crisp yet textured citrus filled palate. Try with white fish in a lemon sauce, also great for light first courses.
