Description We have followed the steady rise of Richard & Stephane Martin of Croix Senaillet from good to great over the last 25 years or so. A climb that has taken them from environmentally friendly to employing biodynamic practices in their vineyard to being awarded full organic status. They now rank among the favourite wines from the Cote Chalonniase district of Southern Burgundy for many keen palates….including M&B. The Macon Davaye is from 3.8 ha of vines spread over 8 sites with limestone and clay soils. Stainless steel fermentation is used but oak is not. The result is an amazing pure expression of Chardonnay with notes of gentle green apple, wild flower scents and a palate of ripe stone fruit, citrus acidity and mild honeyed notes.
