Domaine Nicolas Maillet Mâcon-Verzé Blanc

This fourth-generation, 8 hectare domaine is situated in the commune of Verze; a cool terroir, being a corridor of well-ventilated opposing east and south-west facing slopes, with deep limestone and chalk soils. It is recognised as producing some of the tensest, freshest and most minerally wines in the Maconnais. Coming from 50 year old vines, this wine has a delicate nose of stone fruit and white flowers. The palate is pure and linear, with wonderful tension,  leading to a pleasant round fullness with hints of white pears. The very mineral, almost saline finish is very typical of the limestone terroirs of the Mâconnais area. This is a very pure and expressive wine. We  love it!
